Of course it would always be nice to demo first (you can often get a free demo here on Maui). For me, the Goya 92 has worked great in the light wind + nice wave conditions we so often get in the winter and I highly recommend it. Plus I've had it out on a 4.7 when the wind has picked up and the board is still very manageable. (PS - I weigh about 175). My small board is a Goya 78 quad.
